Frequently Asked Questions

Clear Answers to Help You Make an Informed Decision

How Do Solar Panels Work?

When the sun shines onto a solar panel, energy from the sunlight is absorbed by the PV cells in the panel. This energy creates electrical charges that move in response to an internal electrical field in the cell, causing electricity to flow.

How Does The System Function?

The inverter controls where the electricity is drawn from and where to goes. The system will always prioritise drawing electricity from the PV panels first, then the batteries, and only then from the grid if it requires more power or if the batteries have depleted.

Do solar panels require maintenance?

Will I Be Off The Grid?

It’s possible, but not always recommended. The reason being is that if you had, for example, three days of heavy rain in the middle of winter, you risk running out of electricity.

Do I need to clean the panels?

Panels in time do get dirty, however, with regular (winter) rainfall, panels clean themselves. In cases where there is little rainfall, a garden hose can be used to rinse off the panels.

Where best to mount the panels?

As South Africa is situated in the Southern Hemisphere; we angle your panels to be as Northward facing as possible, to get the most sunlight and produce the biggest yield. Our software also forecasts what your yield will be monthly and annually.

Are their tax incentives to solar?

Yes, SARS allows for a SEC 12B tax allowance which allows a business to depreciate the asset over 12 months and claim the cost against their taxable income at the time of submitting their ordinary annual returns.

Can I feed back into the grid?

Our Vision for Energy Independence

01

Self-Generation:

A Need of the Time

High electricity prices and frequent shortages have made self-generation essential in Pakistan. Producing your own power helps people escape heavy bills and constant load shedding.

02

Sunlight:

A Free Natural Resource

Pakistan receives nearly 300 sunny days each year. This free sunlight can be converted into electricity through solar panels with the right adoption.

03

Solar Energy:

A Smart Investment

Solar is not an extra expense but a long-term investment. Most systems recover their cost in 3–4 years and then provide low-cost electricity for decades.

04

A Lasting Solution

To The Energy Crisis

If households generate even half of their electricity, pressure on the grid will reduce, imports will decline, and Pakistan can achieve long-term energy stability.
